Coffee Brown Mulch - Colorado

Mulch is a material that is applied to the SURFACE of the soil. Its primary purposes are to provide aesthetic enhancement (appearance), control weed germination, and assist in moisture retention in the soil by insulating the soil, and retarding evaporation. It also helps warm the soil up in the spring, and keep the soil warm in the fall, both beneficial to plant growth.

EcoGro Compost

This mulch is made from tree trimmings, food waste, yard waste, leaves, etc. A stable organic matter, it is a good source of nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, sulfur and other nutrients essential for plant growth. These nutrients are made available to the plant roots in a slow release form. EcoGro® compost has a healthy population of naturally occurring microorganisms. These organisms improve soil structure, creating passageways in the soil for the movement of air, water, and nutrients. EcoGro® contains significant quantities of organic matter necessary for water retention and provides food for the soil organisms, which in turn “feed the plants.” It helps return many properties to the soil which have been lost over time and with use.

Mulch

Created from double ground, recycled green waste materials screened to a ½” minus for particle size consistency. While some aging of material is accomplished, this is not a compost and has not been through the documented and managed composting process. It is a very good surface mulch product that can also be blended in low volumes (to avoid potential nitrogen deprivation) with finished compost and soils to provide additional nitrogen for planters soils, etc.
